Public Citizen environmental law essay contest poster

One of the many challenges facing environmental activists is how to hold polluters accountable. We created this poster for Public Citizen to encourage law students to contribute their creative ideas around these urgent issues.

Team Maryland brochure

The Transplant Games of America allows athletes who have received organ transplants to celebrate life, and to compete in 18 different sporting events. We designed this brochure to help spread awareness of the event, and recruit new members for Team Maryland!

“Navigating Grief” brochure

What’s Your Grief, a nonprofit started by two mental health professionals, helps to shed light on a dark and difficult subject. This brochure helps readers navigate the “murky waters” of life after a loss. We expressed this theme through maps and navigation imagery that develop along with the narrative. (As readers progress through the brochure, the turbulent waves begin to calm—and the sky brightens—as they find their way toward coping.)

LLF 2015 Ceremony of Remembrance invitations

The LLF‘s annual Ceremony of Remembrance is an incredibly moving event which honors the generosity of organ and tissue donors who have passed. This year’s theme, “Life increases exponentially with love,” inspired us to portray the hope that unites all people when we look up to the stars.

National Disaster Legal Aid site design

Victims of natural disasters often need legal help—fast. Never before has mobile-responsiveness been so crucial. We designed to consolidate resources and quickly activate pro-bono attorneys, even as a disaster is occurring.

Pen Faulkner 2013 brochure

PEN/Faulkner Foundation 2013/14 reading series brochure

We were excited to produce the PEN/Faulkner Foundation‘s Reading Series brochure for a second time, featuring a fresh slate of books and events. In keeping with our previous design, this kit—with a series of postcards and a self-mailing enclosure—is versatile, welcoming, and celebratory.

Textile Museum 2013 annual report

Annual reports typically highlight a year’s achievements, but this one carried special significance. After 88 years in its historic home, the Textile Museum would be moving to a new location at the George Washigton University. We were proud to be a part of this exciting transition, by helping to showcase the museum’s legacy and prepare for its bright future.

Split This Rock web site design and development

Split This Rock curates and supports social activism through poetry. We created a mobile-responsive (and more staff-friendly) site using the Expression Engine CMS, which also serves to house their vast collection of works from poets around the world.

Elijah Cummings Youth Project materials

ECYP offers international leadership opportunities to promising teens from Baltimore. Our challenge: to create compelling materials that speak to both teen audiences as well as to major donors.

Fantastic Organic site design

PBS KIDS and Whole Foods Market® are joining forces to help families make conscious decisions about organic foods. We were proud to work with Whitmoyer on this project, designing a fun, family-friendly resource for tips, recipes and games. Visit the site >

Textile Museum annual fund kit

Along with its annual fundraising appeal, The Textile Museum had an important announcement: it’s moving! We developed this suite of materials to announce the change, while reminding donors that the breadth and legacy of this amazing museum would continue just as always.

1Sky volunteer outreach brochure

Climate action leader 1Sky enrolled us to create this piece to help recruit local precinct captains for its national campaign. Printed using wind power, this colorful brochure stands out at volunteer fairs and green festivals.

Public Citizen event invitations

As fans of stand-up comedy—and of Public Citizen!—we were thrilled to be asked to design invitations for the “Stand Up for Main Street” benefit. Since there would be multiple avenues of engagement, we designed flexible event graphics that could work in all print and digital formats, and in limited colors.

PEN/Faulkner Foundation 2012/13 reading series brochure

The PEN/Faulkner Foundation brings an impressive group of distinguished writers to DC each year for its Reading Series. Our challenge: how to promote this program in a fresh but recognizable way. We decided to rethink the previous brochure format altogether, and developed a self-mailing container with a series of postcards—which readers could sort, share, or stick on their refrigerators.

National Collaboration for Youth policy reports

Part of NHSA, the National Collaboration for Youth publishes recommendations to Congress on issues affecting young people. We were proud to design several handouts to highlight not only the statistics but also the stakes of these important issues.

PBSKids Mister Rogers voting site design

To celebrate Won’t You Be My Neighbor Day, PBS KIDS wanted to develop a nostalgic, family-friendly site for grown up fans of Mister Rogers. When asked by Whitmoyer to design the site graphics, we donned our favorite cardigans and got to work! Visit the site >

Tree Baltimore web site design and development

Tree Baltimore works to improve air quality—and the quality of life—for city residents. With a small, busy staff, the organization needed a flexible site that would integrate several social functions and be easily updatable on the fly. We designed a custom WordPress theme with a Weever mobile app to allow staff to update the site from any device, anywhere in the city. Visit the site >

National Human Services Assembly youth outcomes report

In the field of youth services, there’s no shortage of data identifying problems. Identifying outcomes, however, is a challenge—and one that the National Collaboration for Youth is working to address. From a design perspective, we sought to put a human face on these findings.

Annenberg Learner catalogs

Annenberg Learner produces a wide range of professional development and multimedia resources for schools. We designed these catalogs not only to inform teachers about these tools, but also to inspire them with new ways to enrich their classrooms.

Public Citizen 2011 annual report

Public Citizen advocates for citizen interests on issues as diverse as health care, financial reform, and climate change. We worked with them to create a modular annual report folder with loose inserts that could be used beyond the initial year, and for multiple purposes.

Endangered Species Coalition anniversary gala materials

We were honored to work with the Endangered Species Coalition to develop materials for their 25th anniversary gala. With stunning photography and sophisticated type, we created budget-friendly invitations that pack an emotional punch—even though they were printed in just two colors.

Sex Discussed Here! site design

We were thrilled to hear from Sex Discussed Here!, award-winning sex educators who offer smart, positive, LGBTQ-inclusive programs that college students love. Our challenge was to design a website that was neither too serious nor too smarmy, and fun for teenagers—yet authoritative enough for college administrators. Visit the site >
